At our bi-monthly science meetings, members of our PUNCH Science Operations Center (SOC) and Science Team will be on hand to describe the latest in PUNCH Data capabilities and tools, and to join you in a discussion of the latest science using PUNCH. We will start with presentations and then use virtual breakout rooms for small group interactions.

Recently concluded: Bi-monthly Science Meet #2

Thursday, October 30, 2025, at 9:00-12:00 (Colorado time)

During this meeting, we tracked a CME through PUNCH's field of view and connected it to other mission observations.

Agenda (presentations will be posted soon)

  • 9:00 - 9:10: PUNCH Mission Update, C. DeForest
  • 9:10 - 9:20: SOC Data Update, C. M. Hughes
  • 9:20 - 10:00: Aug 2025 Sun to Earth Event, S. Gibson
  • 10:00: short break
  • 10:05 - 11:00: Play with Level 3 data, R. Attie

In our second half, we used Google Colab Jupyter notebooks as in the last telecon. It wasn't necessary to know Python or have any local code downloaded in advance, because this was a fully online experience. However, a couple of attendees had trouble running Google Colab in a prior meeting, so they (and others) could instead use a non-cloud Python / Jupyter notebook install.
