PUNCH PI and Public Engagement Lead Speak at the Cotton Bowl Eclipse 2024 Event

The PUNCH PI Craig DeForest and PUNCH Outreach Lead Cherilynn Morrow presented, live at the Cotton Bowl Stadium, the mission and its relevance to solar eclipse viewing and sunwatching across time and space.

The tri-agency event was organized by NOAA, the NSF, and NASA, and included up to 15,000 eclipse aficionados. The morning was cloudy but the eclipse was clear — much to the joy of participants who had braved the forecasted cloudy weather to come to the live event.

Also at the event, PUNCH Outreach debuted the short video "Rock of the Sun in Chaco Canyon." Follow the link to watch the video and learn more about its development.

CATE 2024 PI Amir Caspi operated a CATE 2024 station in the stadium and collected good data, which were reported at the Triennial Earth-Sun Summit immediately following the eclipse.

You can watch watch the recording of the live stream on YouTube.
