Finding the Sun's Energy with ALL FIVE SENSES

BECOME a SUN-WATCHER with ALL of YOUR SENSES!!.

Almost everything on Earth (including you!) is dependent on the Sun's energy. Commonly we feel signs of the Sun energy as sunlight transforms to warmth on our skin. We can also see the effects of sunlight in shadows or rainbows. How could we ALSO taste, smell, and hear the Sun's energy? This activity helps us to understand more about this.

This 1-page, pencil-and-paper activity is adaptable for ages 6 to adult. We encourage ages 6-8 to collaborate with an adult. Older learners can use this to enhance systemic thinking and engage with more advanced topics like photosynthesis, weather and wind patterns, heat transfer, and energy transformation. The activity is fun to include at family events, out-of-school programs, and classrooms.
